(INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM)

IELTS is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work in the UK,New Zealand,Australia,Canada,etc. It is recognised widely as a language requirement for all courses in further and higher education. Easy accessible centres are Trivandrum, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The test is generally once a month.Candidates are not allowed to repeat the test, if they fail, within three months at any centre.

ACADEMIC AND GENERAL TRAINING CENTRES

Candidates must select either the Academic or General Training, depending on the stated requirement of their sponsor or receiving institution. To score well, a good command on grammar and vocabulary is required since poor spelling and grammar are penalised. In the speaking test intonation, clarity of thought and well balanced views are being tested.The test is made up of four modules, Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

They are timed as follows:    

Listening-30 minutes, Reading-60 minutes, Writing-60 minutes, Speaking-11-14 minutes

 

COLLOCATIONS

[These will enable you to score more in IELTS & TOEFL. Collocation means the occurrence of certain words regularly in the language. They show the way that a particular idea is expressed in English. If you read these loudly and regularly, you can enrich your command of English.]
